Champion and Multiple G1 Winner Siring Multiple G1 Winners!

Seven-time Grade/Group 1 winner and 2001 Chilean Horse of the Year LIDO PALACE (Chi), sire of VINEYARD HAVEN, one of this year’s top sprinters, is moving to Northview PA near Peach Bottom, Pa., to stand the 2010 season. The stud fee for the multimillionaire, whose oldest crop is now 4, is $3,000 live foal.

LIDO PALACE’s 3-year-old son VINEYARD HAVEN, a two-time Grade 1 winner at 2 when taking the Gr. 1 Champagne and Hopeful S. and second in balloting for the Eclipse Award for juvenile champion, returned this year in dazzling fashion to capture the 6 fur. Gr. 1 Frank J. De Francis Memorial Dash at Laurel Park over older rivals in his third start of the year. In his prior effort he crossed the finish line first in Saratoga’s 7 fur. Gr. 1 King’s Bishop S., but was disqualified to second. VINEYARD HAVEN has earnings of $701,500 from eight career starts after a third-place finish to sprint division leader Kodiak Kowboy in the Gr. 1 Cigar Mile on Nov. 28. LIDO PALACE is also the sire of Puerto Rican Gr. 1 winner DOWN FOR DOUBLE in his first crop.

LIDO PALACE was a champion at 2 and 3 in his native Chile. Competing two seasons in the U.S., LIDO PALACE won five of 11 starts, including the Gr. 1 Whitney H. at Saratoga and back-to-back runnings of the Gr. 1 Woodward S. at Belmont Park. Among those he defeated in his U.S. campaign were Horse of the Year Tiznow, champion Macho Uno and classic winner Red Bullet. A winner at distances from 6 fur. to 1 3/8 mi., LIDO PALACE retired with 11 wins in 23 career starts (with 18 stakes wins or placings) over four seasons, amassing $2,705,865.

LIDO PALACE is out of three-time Chilean Broodmare of the Year SONADA (Chi), a daughter of Quick Decision who also produced Chilean Horse of the Year, champion 2 and 3
