BONDURANT (c, 2, War Front–Ivory Empress {GSP, $189,402}, by Seeking the Gold) showed very little when last behind subsequent GIII Bourbon S. winner and GI Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf runner-up Airoforce (Colonel John) sprinting at Kentucky Downs Sept. 5, and belied 18-1 odds when stretched out at Keeneland Oct. 7. Within striking distance while out in the clear and a touch keen early, he joined Oscar Nominated (Kitten’s Joy) four deep into the lane and seemed like he’d blow past that rival. Oscar Nominated dug deep, but Bondurant was up to the challenge and found the line by a head to the good. There was a gap of 8 1/4 lengths back to third. Bondurant’s second dam, GSW and GISP Madame Pandit (Wild Again), produced GISW Mea Domina (Dance Brightly). Ivory Empress has a yearling colt by Ghostzapper and a weanling son of Stroll. She was bred back to Declaration of War. Lifetime Record: 3-2-0-0, $68,506.  O-Whitham Thoroughbreds LLC; B-Janis R. Whitham (KY); T-Ian R. Wilkes.
